City of St. Petersburg recently issued the following announcement.

Event Name: Veggie Gardening in Florida - Talk and Plant Sale

Date: Sunday, November 8th 2020

Location:  Sunken Gardens, 1825 4th St. N.

Sunday, November 8Talk – 1-1:30, Plant Sale 1:30 – 2:00

Outdoor Amphitheater / Pre-registration Required

This is the time to grow veggies in Florida! Beat Florida’s sandy soil, pests, and more to grow the vegetable garden you’ve always wanted. Glean sustainable tips on building soil, fertilizing, and more from Elise Pickett, owner of The Urban Harvest LLC. Organic heirloom vegetable seeds and veggie starter plants including tomatoes for sale after the program. Program free with Gardens admission or membership.

Pre-registration required as space in our amphitheater is limited due to social distancing guidelines. Call 727-551-3102 to register. Class is free with Sunken Gardens’ admission or membership. The talk will be followed by a small plant and heirloom seed sale. Cash or Credit Card accepted.

IMPORTANT PROTOCOL:

****Masks and physical distancing are required in the amphitheater during the talk and sale. Masks are not required while exploring the rest of the Gardens' outdoor areas. Talk attendees will have first choice of plants at the beginning of the sale. Five guests are allowed in the sale area at a time. After registering, please let us know if you are unable to attend so we can allow others to fill your spot. As this is a free talk, places will not be held for latecomers.
