UCF women’s basketball announced on April 15 the signing of three new guards as part of head coach Gabe Lazo’s efforts to build his inaugural roster. Lazo, who was recently named the program’s 14th head coach, is working with his staff to strengthen the Knights’ lineup ahead of the upcoming season.

The signings include two athletes from Atlantic Coast Conference programs and an All-Southland Conference First Team honoree. The announcement marks a significant step in shaping the team for competition at Addition Financial Arena later this year.

Lazo, described as one of the nation’s top recruiters and self-styled “connectors,” is focusing on attracting talent through the transfer portal. The move comes as part of broader efforts to elevate UCF women’s basketball following recent coaching changes.

The university shared news about each new player across its social media channels, highlighting their commitment to join “The Kingdom.” The updates included posts welcoming each athlete by name and sharing links for fans to learn more about them.

As transfer portal activity continues across college athletics, UCF’s latest additions are expected to contribute immediately. The program will provide further updates as additional players join or developments occur.
