UCF women’s basketball head coach Gabe Lazo announced on Apr. 15 the signing of Key Roseby, a standout player from Stephen F. Austin, to the program’s 2026-27 roster.
Roseby’s addition is significant as she was recognized as an All-Southland First Team honoree and played a key role in leading her former team to back-to-back Southland Conference Tournament Championships. Her performance highlights her potential impact for UCF moving forward.
During her sophomore season with the Lumberjacks, Roseby averaged 13.1 points per game and started all 35 games, ranking fifth in points scored within the conference while also leading her team in three-point shooting. She recorded a field goal percentage of 43.6% and made over one-third of her attempts from beyond the arc at a rate of 34.4%. Over two seasons, she averaged nearly eleven points and almost six rebounds per game.
Lazo said that Roseby’s approach aligns with his coaching philosophy: “controlling what we can control.” In addition to scoring, Roseby contributed over six rebounds per game during her sophomore year and demonstrated growth after moving into the starting lineup following a freshman season spent mostly coming off the bench.
Roseby’s high school career included winning two state championships at Frisco Liberty High School in Texas. In her collegiate debut against Texas Southern, she achieved a double-double with fifteen points and ten rebounds.
Looking ahead, UCF Athletics describes its mission as striving for academic and athletic excellence while representing both the university and community on national platforms.
