NFIB held its annual Small Business Day in Tallahassee on March 13, 2025, amid the ongoing legislative session. The event attracted small business owners from Florida who discussed significant challenges affecting their enterprises. Among the speakers were several state representatives, including Randy Maggard, Shane Abbott, Gallop Franklin, Ryan Chamberlin, and Tom Fabricio.

The organization expressed satisfaction with the legislative support for abolishing the business rent tax, a longstanding issue for small businesses. NFIB has previously succeeded in reducing this tax from 6% to 2%, and it is optimistic that lawmakers will eliminate the remaining percentage.

NFIB is also keeping an eye on various bills under consideration. It backs legislation allowing employers to hire apprentices and interns at wages below the state minimum wage if these roles are part of a curriculum requiring job experience for vocational training completion.

Additionally, NFIB opposes a proposed bill aimed at reversing some tort reform measures they supported in 2023. "NFIB stands strongly in support of the tort reform changes that were made that reined in the out-of-control billboard attorney industry."
