The Florida Legislature has begun its session, prompting calls from small business advocates for policies that support economic growth. Bill Herrle, Executive Director of NFIB Florida, emphasized the challenges faced by small businesses in the state, including ongoing economic difficulties and recovery efforts following last year's hurricane season.
"As lawmakers return to Tallahassee for the start of session, small business owners throughout the Sunshine State are battling ongoing economic challenges and some are still recovering from last year’s hurricane season," Herrle stated. He highlighted the importance of legislative support for pro-growth measures to enhance Florida's business environment.
Herrle also pointed to Governor DeSantis's recent budget proposal aimed at repealing Florida's business rent tax as a significant step forward. "Small businesses would greatly benefit from Governor DeSantis’s recent budget proposal to completely repeal Florida’s business rent tax," he said. The NFIB Florida is eager to collaborate with both the Legislature and Governor DeSantis during this session to advocate for the interests of small businesses across the state.
