From October 25 to November 2, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will host its ninth annual Mobility Week in collaboration with various partners across the state. This initiative aims to encourage Floridians to adopt safe and diverse transportation methods. The week-long event will feature numerous activities that promote transportation options, showcase achievements, and introduce new initiatives and policies.
"FDOT’s mission is to provide a safe transportation system and to efficiently move people and goods throughout Florida," stated FDOT Secretary Jared W. Perdue, P.E. "Mobility Week allows us to highlight the many options Floridians and visitors have when they travel and we are thrilled to continue working with partners to help share this essential transportation information with thousands of people statewide."
The celebration involves multiple entities including cities, counties, metropolitan planning organizations, transit agencies, regional bodies, employers, and other transportation agencies. These partners contribute by organizing hundreds of events that advocate for travel choices such as walking, biking, ridesharing, using public transit, and driving safely across Florida.
