WASHINGTON, D.C. – On March 6, 2024, Senator Rick Scott announced that he will bring Nathaly Haratz Kaswan, a Floridian and mother who is working to bring awareness and advocating for Israelis taken hostage by Hamas following the October 7th attack through the Milk Carton Project, a collaboration between nonprofits Kidnapped From Israel and Loving Moms United, as his guest to President Biden’s State of the Union address on Thursday, March 7 at the U.S. Capitol. The Milk Carton Project, which is inspired by the milk cartons made popular in the 1980s to highlight missing children, was started by a group of South Florida mothers, and these milk cartons, which Senator Scott has on display in his Washington, D.C. office, feature the faces of kidnapped civilians from Israel on October 7th.

Senator Rick Scott said, “I am honored to have Nathaly join me as my guest to this year’s State of the Union. Following the October 7th attack when Iran-backed Hamas terrorists invaded Israel and killed more than 1,400 innocent people, including at least 32 Americans, and taking an unknown number of Israelis and Americans hostage, Nathaly’s group answered the call to stand up against terrorism. We cannot forget what these terrorists did. Hamas brutally beheaded babies, burned people alive, raped and murdered young women and is STILL holding Americans hostage more than 150 days after the attacks. Since that terrible day, they have been donating their time and resources to ensure all hostages are brought home and raise awareness for the children being held captive by Hamas in Gaza. Outside of my office in Washington, I have a poster of every hostage and a large milk carton made through the Milk Carton Project on display for all to see. I will not take them down or stop fighting for action until every hostage is home and safe and I am proud to see Floridians like Nathaly fight for them every day. I will never stop talking about these hostages until they are home, and I urge the President to follow our lead and do the same.”

Nathaly Haratz Kaswan from Kidnapped from Israel and Loving Moms United said, “I am grateful for the work Senator Scott has done to continue to bring awareness to the hostages who have spent more than 150 days in captivity—and we cannot let up the fight. Hamas has launched a brutal attack against my Jewish brothers and sisters, and I won’t stop fighting to raise awareness until every hostage taken by Hamas is safely back home.”
