Secretary Byrd Reminds Voters of Early Voting Options for General Election

Secretary of State Cord Byrd reminds Florida voters of the early voting options available for the upcoming General Election on Tuesday, November 8, 2022.

“Florida’s Election Laws provide for at least 8 days of in-person early voting. Counties can offer up to 6 more days if they choose.  Over 30 counties started early voting today.  Early voting offers registered Florida voters a convenient way to cast their ballot in person prior to Election Day,” said Secretary of State Cord Byrd. “Florida’s Election Laws provide that county Supervisors of Elections can offer in-person early voting.  All 67 counties will offer early voting from October 29 through November 5 at designated early voting sites. Some counties may offer additional days of early voting and counties severely impacted by Hurricane Ian have more flexibility in providing early voting options to their voters.”

Governor DeSantis issued Executive Order 22-234, which gives Supervisors of Elections in Charlotte, Lee and Sarasota counties the authority to extend the amount of days for early voting and designate additional early voting locations. If you live in one of the affected counties, please visit the Department’s Hurricane Ian Election Resources Page for information on early voting in your county or contact your local Supervisor of Elections office directly.

The Division of Elections posts early voting dates, times and locations for all counties on its website. Voters can also contact their local Supervisor of Elections office for information on early voting in their county.

The Division also posts daily online statistics on early voting and vote-by-mail based on county-specific reports filed by Supervisors of Elections.

Voters in Florida have three options to exercise their right to vote: voting-by-mail, early voting and voting at the polls on Election Day. Voters are encouraged to contact their local Supervisor of Elections office for additional information about these options.
