Interactive Budget Tool is now available!

As a neighbor, you have the opportunity to provide feedback on the Proposed Fiscal Year (FY) 2023 Budget!

The City of Fort Lauderdale's Office of Management and Budget wants you to try out Balancing Act, an interactive tool designed to educate and engage our neighbors on the budget process. By using this tool, neighbors can interact with a model of the Proposed FY 2023’s General Fund budget to:

  • Increase or decrease the amount of the General Fund allocated to departmental budgets in one percent increments
  • Include or remove funding recommended for departments’ budget modifications
  • Adjust policy-driven revenue sources (ex. the City's portion of property taxes, utility taxes, fines, etc.)
The Balancing Act simulation includes all budget modification requests submitted by city departments, and shows which budget modification requests were not included in the Proposed FY 2023 Budget. The Budget/CIP and Grants Division of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) has prepared this simulation based on:

  • The Proposed Fiscal Year 2023 General Fund revenue forecasts
  • Adopted operating budgets
