The Florida Department of State’s Office of International Affairs will hold a summit for Florida’s Consular Corps in Coral Gables on Monday, June 13, 2022. This summit, entitled “Connected in Business, United in Culture” is designed to encourage international trade with Florida by fostering economic and cultural development opportunities between the Consular Corps and the Florida Department of State.
“As Florida’s State Protocol Officer, I am honored to facilitate consular relations between the state and all foreign governments doing business in Florida,” said Secretary of State Cord Byrd. “Florida’s growing communities are home to increasingly diverse populations and initiatives such as this summit will nurture greater understanding among nations and deepen our historical, cultural, social, and economic ties.”
Florida is home to one of the largest groups of consular missions and foreign trade offices in the United States. “Connected in Business, United in Culture” will bring together foreign consulates and trade organizations for panels addressing collaborative partnerships, business and trade, emergency management, education, and state agency roles and responsibilities.
Presented by the Florida Department of State Office of International Affairs, the Florida International Affairs Foundation and Citizens for Florida Arts, Inc., “Connected in Business, United in Culture” will be held at the Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables from 9:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. The Anthony R. Abraham Foundation serves as Presenting Sponsor.
