On June 10, Orange County Mayor Jerry L. Demings welcomed citizens and community leaders to the 2022 State of the County address at the Linda Chapin Theater inside the Orange County Convention Center.
“This has already been a year of extraordinary accomplishments as we continue to invest boldly in our future,” said Mayor Demings. “I am thankful to live in a community that cares for its people and is willing to roll up its sleeves to tackle complex issues.”
During his remarks, Mayor Demings highlighted achievements and investments made during the past year focusing on Orange County’s booming tourism industry, business-friendly environment, and community projects and initiatives. “The plans we’ve laid out demonstrates what can be achieved when we invest boldy in our community.” said Mayor Demings.
The speech also focused on the growing transportation needs in Orange County, and the opportunity to build a better infrastructure for the future.
Also, for the first time, a group of local artists joined Mayor Demings on stage and entertained guests with a series of live performances featuring the African Heritage Alliance, Inez Patricia School of Dance, Polynesian Luau Productions and Venezuela Danza y Tambor.
