The City of Fort Lauderdale is working with Ric-Man Construction Florida Inc. to make stormwater infrastructure improvements that will reduce flooding in the River Oaks neighborhood. Construction began in January 2022 and is expected to be completed in November 2024.
On Monday, May 16, crews will begin installing stormwater infrastructure along the north and east sides of the River Oaks Stormwater Preserve. While this work is underway, the preserve will be closed to the public.
Crews are expected to be on site Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. The preserve will reopen to the public in late June when the work is completed.
Traffic & Parking Impacts:
Due to the location of the work zone, no road closures are anticipated and there will be no impacts to parking in the neighborhood. Please drive with caution in the area as trucks and other vehicles will be accessing the site during work hours.
We apologize in advance for any inconvenience and thank our neighbors for their continued patience as we work to improve the neighborhood’s drainage system as quickly as possible.
