The varsity football game on Friday, Oct. 15, pitting the Florida State University High School Seminoles against Trinity Christian Academy Conquerors was a chance at redemption for the Seminoles.
Florida High lost 45-14 against Trinity Christian in last year’s playoff game on Nov. 27, 2020, a game that was part of the 2020 Florida High School Athletic Association Football State Championships - Class 3A Football tournament, MaxPreps said. Trinity Christian won a state title last year.
The Seminoles (5-1) and Conquerors (6-1) will faced off in the non-conference game at 7:30 p.m. at the Seminoles’ home field, 3000 School House Road, Tallahassee.
“Where are we at, what are the things we can do, what are the things we can improve upon against an opponent that’s as good as these guys,” Florida High football head coach Jarrod Hickman said, WTXL reported Oct. 12. “They've done it against some of the best around in the state, so it's a tremendous measuring stick for us, and our kids are excited to come out and play at home with this type of football at this level.”
A member of the Florida High School Athletic Association, Trinity Christian is “one of the most sought after programs in the state,” according to the school's athletics webpage. Verlon Dorminey is head coach of the Conquerors.
