Investigative reporter Glenn Greenwald has firmly landed himself as a censorship opponent.
Greenwald tweeted that censorship is aimed at dissent regardless of party.
“Censorship never was a left-wing tactic. Opposing censorship was never the hallmark of right-wing values. And censorship is never aimed at one ideology or the other, but at *dissent* from the ruling class wherever it comes from,” Greenwald tweeted.
Greenwald’s comments appear to be playing out.
Conservatives have been fervent in their disappointment for canceling former President Donald Trump’s Twitter account in the waning days of his presidency.
However, now Democratic mega-donor and vocal anti-vaxxer Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was banned from Instagram.
Recently, Fla. Gov. Ron DeSantis described big tech censorship tactics as “political manipulation.”
"What we're doing is really providing a framework to create a social media environment, and a broader Internet environment, that was really what the original vision was," DeSantis said on NewsMax TV. "You go back 10 years, you didn't have this type of censorship…”
