During the intense protest at the seat of the legislative branch on Wednesday, U.S. Senator from Florida, Marco Rubio requested President Trump to put an end to the mayhem that has placed a lot of people, including lawmakers, and police officers in danger.

Mr. President @realDonaldTrump the men & women of law enforcement are under assault,” Rubio wrote on Twitter. “It is crucial you help restore order by sending resources to assist the police and ask those doing this to stand down.”

In his speech on the Senate Floor after the incident, Rubio said he respects the objection but it is important to think about what the siege has brought everyone including the men and women guarding, protecting, and serving the Capitol.

The unfortunate clash between President Donald Trump’s supporters and the police officers occurred as the former forcibly entered the Capitol building in the hopes to decertify Joe Biden’s win.

Egged on by Trump during his “Save America Rally” speech on the Ellipse, the rioters stormed the Capitol, occupied the leaders’ chambers and the senate dais, left trash, vandalized the national building, and broke and shattered the windows.

Vice-President Mike Pence and lawmakers were immediately ushered to safety.

After posting a Tweet for a peaceful protest and requesting people to remain calm, Trump in a recorded video has subsequently asked his supporters to leave the Capitol.
