City of Miami issued the following announcement on Oct. 14
For the fourth consecutive year, the City of Miami’s Procurement Department has earned national recognition for excellence in the delivery of public procurement services. The National Procurement Institute, Inc. (NPI) named the City’s Procurement Department as a winner of the prestigious 2020 Achievement of Excellence in Procurement Award, which measures and provides benchmarks for public procurement best practices.
“Congratulations to our entire Procurement Department staff for once again earning this welcome recognition,” said Miami City Manager Art Noriega. “This achievement is especially notable given the unprecedented circumstances that our entire organization is facing, and I commend our procurement professionals for navigating the challenges posed by COVID-19 to continue delivering excellent service.”
The City of Miami’s Procurement Department is one of 32 agencies in Florida to win the NPI award and one of just 69 cities from across the United States and Canada to earn the recognition in 2020. Evaluation criteria included innovation, e-procurement, productivity and professionalism. The department is tasked with procuring quality goods and services, design, construction and construction management services at the best value for the City and its taxpayers.
