CITY OF MARGATE: Public Notice for Substantial Change and COVID-19 (CARES Act) Amendments

City of Margate issued the following announcement on Aug. 7

Substantial Changes to the Fiscal Year (FY) 2015-2019 HUD Consolidated Plan and 2019/2020 Annual Action Plan (AAP) 

The City of Margate hereby announces that the Broward County Housing Finance and Community Redevelopment Division (HFCRD) will be submitting a Substantial Change Amendment Request, on behalf of the City of Margate, to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) requesting substantial changes to the FY 2015-2019 Consolidated Plan (CP), the Citizen Participation Plan (comment period change from 30 days to 5 days for declared emergencies)., which is part of the Consolidated Plan, and the FY 2019/2020 Annual Action Plan (AAP). The Substantial Change amends the Plans to accommodate the necessary changes and waivers to increase the CDBG funds allocation to reflect the additional funding from the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act, (CARES Act) Public Law 116-136 to the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program – Coronavirus (CDBG-CV).

The City will be receiving $224,749 in CDBG-CV funding under the CARES Act funding allocation, of which $44,949 is for administration of the funding. $179,800 of the CDBG-CV funding will be used for Rental Assistance and Senior Meals. The proposed changes to the corresponding FY Consolidated Plan, AAP and Additional Program Information and allocation breakdown can be found on the City of Margate and HFCRD websites listed below.

Citizens are encouraged to review the following draft substantial amendment information and provide written comment:

Copies of the documents are available for review and comment during the five (5) day period commencing Friday, August 7, 2020 and ending Wednesday, August, 12 2020.
