City of Margate issued the following announcement on Feb. 7

The City of Margate has launched a Military Tribute Banner Program. The purpose of this program is to honor our local veterans and those currently serving our nation in the United States Armed Forces.

The City’s Military Tribute Banner Program was created for the community to publicly honor and recognize our unsung heroes - active duty military personnel and veterans - who reside or have an immediate family member that resides in the City of Margate. City of Margate employees may also participate.

The banners will be displayed on the light poles along Margate Boulevard in time for Memorial Day.

Each banner honors a veteran or active duty service member by displaying their photo, branch of service, and military service information. Local families and businesses can sponsor a banner, which costs $100.

For more information about the program or to sponsor a banner, residents and businesses can call Alison Saffold in the City Manager’s Office at (954) 935-5306 or visit margatefl.com/militarybannerprogram.
