The City of St. Petersburg announced on April 17 the selection of businesses for its 2026 Legacy Business Program, recognizing local establishments that have contributed to the city’s character and culture over generations.
The program aims to honor and support long-standing, locally owned businesses from diverse industries and neighborhoods, highlighting their impact on community life. Public recognition, promotional support, and access to resources are among the benefits offered through this initiative.
Mayor Kenneth T. Welch said, “Congratulations to the inaugural honorees of the 2026 Legacy Business Program! We are incredibly proud to recognize and uplift businesses that have stood the test of time and shaped our community. The longevity of these establishments did not happen by accident; it was earned through commitment, consistency, and deep community connection. Through this program, we look forward to supporting the continued success and growth of legacy businesses for generations to come.” Honorees include Parc Center for Disabilities (District 1), Indulgence Medical Day Spa (District 2), Red Mesa Restaurant (District 3), Harvey’s Restaurant LLC (District 4), Bayway Country Store and Butcher Shop (District 5), Arts Center Association/Morean Arts Center (District 6), Reed Roofing Company (District 7), and DoMA Home Furnishings LLC (District 8).
Finalists who were not selected remain eligible for future consideration in the program. All eligible legacy businesses will receive a storefront decal and certificate during Small Business Week scheduled from May 4-8.
