The South Florida beach volleyball team will begin postseason play at the Conference USA Championships in Youngsville, Louisiana, according to an April 22 announcement. The Bulls, seeded fourth, are set to face fifth-seeded Tulane on Thursday, April 23 at 2:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time in a first-round match at Sugar Beach.
This event is significant as it marks South Florida’s first appearance in the Conference USA Championship since joining the league on July 1, 2025. The winner of the opening match between South Florida and Tulane will advance to play either top-seeded Florida Atlantic or the winner of Tarleton State versus Sam Houston.
South Florida completed its regular season with a record of 19-13 overall and went 3-3 in conference play. Earlier this season, the Bulls secured a close victory over then No.20 ranked Tulane by a score of 3-2 during opening weekend. Tulane finished its season with a record of 22-13 and was 1-5 in conference competition.
The tournament features nine teams competing in a double-elimination bracket with a single-elimination championship match. Each dual consists of five pairs from each team playing simultaneously; winning three out of five matches secures victory for that round. All matches will be streamed live on ESPN+.
Pri Piantadosi-Lima serves as South Florida’s first-ever head coach for beach volleyball and was named to the position on June 6, 2023. She also leads USAV Beach and the national team development program and received recognition as the USA Volleyball Female Junior Coach of the Year in 2022.
