The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), a prominent small business advocacy group in Florida, has declared its endorsement for three candidates in the upcoming special election scheduled for June 10, 2025. The candidates receiving support are Debbie Mayfield, Brian Hodgers, and Nathan Boyles.

Bill Herrle, NFIB Florida Executive Director, expressed confidence in these candidates’ ability to advocate for small businesses in Tallahassee. “NFIB is confident that these three candidates will be reliable small business advocates in Tallahassee,” he stated. Herrle emphasized the importance of elected officials understanding key issues affecting Main Street and supporting pro-growth policies. He added, “On behalf of Florida’s small businesses, we are proud to endorse Debbie Mayfield, Brian Hodgers, and Nathan Boyles for election to the Florida Legislature.”

Debbie Mayfield is currently serving as a state representative from Melbourne and has a strong voting record with the NFIB. She is campaigning for Senate District 19. Brian Hodgers, also from Melbourne and a small business owner, is running for House District 32. Nathan Boyles, another small business owner from Okaloosa, seeks election to House District 3.

The endorsement by NFIB’s Florida PAC serves as an important indicator to voters that these candidates are expected to support small businesses and contribute positively to Florida’s local economy.
