Kisean Paul Anderson, known as Sean Kingston, has been sentenced to 42 months in federal prison for his involvement in a fraud scheme that targeted luxury merchandise vendors. U.S. District Judge David S. Leibowitz handed down the sentence after a federal jury convicted Anderson of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and wire fraud.

The case involved more than $1 million in property, including a bulletproof Escalade, high-end watches, and a 232-inch LED television. According to evidence presented at trial, between April 2023 and March 2024, Anderson used social media to contact victims and arrange purchases of expensive items. He invited sellers to his luxury homes in Broward County and leveraged his celebrity status by offering social media promotion or mentioning other celebrities as potential clients.

When it came time for payment, either Anderson or his mother, Janice Eleanor Turner, sent fake wire receipts as proof of payment. These receipts were obtained by Turner but no legitimate funds were ever transferred. Most victims did not receive any payment; some only received money after pursuing legal action or involving law enforcement.

On July 23, Janice Eleanor Turner was sentenced to five years in federal prison for her role in the scheme.

“U.S. Attorney Jason A. Reding Quiñones for the Southern District of Florida, Special Agent in Charge Rafael Barros of the U.S. Secret Service (USSS), Miami Field Office, and Sheriff Gregory Tony of the Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO) made the announcement.”

The investigation was conducted by USSS Miami and BSO. The prosecution was handled by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Marc Anton and Trevor Jones.
