Sidney Marc Wilson, Jr., a 47-year-old resident of Niceville, Florida, has been indicted on federal charges connected to an alleged scheme that defrauded victims of millions of dollars. The announcement was made by John P. Heekin, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Florida.
Wilson is scheduled to appear in court on August 1, 2025, before United States Magistrate Judge Hope Thai Cannon. The indictment includes charges of conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud, mail fraud, wire fraud, money laundering, and subscribing to materially false tax returns.
If found guilty, Wilson could face up to twenty years in prison for the fraud-related charges, up to ten years for money laundering offenses, and up to three years for the tax-related offense.
The Internal Revenue Service-Criminal Investigation and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are jointly investigating the case. Assistant United States Attorney David L. Goldberg is prosecuting.
“An indictment is merely an allegation by a grand jury that a defendant has committed a violation of federal criminal law and is not evidence of guilt. All defendants are presumed innocent and entitled to a fair trial, during which it will be the government’s burden to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt at trial.”
