Dale Robinson, a former Miami-Dade Transit supervisor, and his wife Marcia Robinson have been sentenced following their guilty pleas to federal charges related to a bribery scheme. U.S. District Judge K. Michael Moore handed down the sentences.

Dale Robinson admitted to soliciting a bribe from a contractor working with Miami-Dade Transit on Metrorail repair and maintenance contracts. He was sentenced to 18 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release. A forfeiture judgment of $75,956 was also entered against him, which he has paid.

Marcia Robinson pleaded guilty to misprision of a felony for her role in covering up the bribery scheme and received three years of probation.

The facts presented at the plea hearings revealed that Dale Robinson, acting as General Superintendent and lead Rail Structure and Track Supervisor for Miami-Dade Transit, was responsible for recommending contractors for track maintenance work. Jessie Bledsoe, co-owner of JB Railroad Contracting Inc., agreed to pay Dale Robinson a bribe in exchange for favorable treatment in contract selection.

In January 2021, Dale Robinson asked Bledsoe for a bribe while JB Railroad was working on an existing contract and seeking another one. To facilitate the bribe payment, Marcia Robinson created Tailored Railroads & Consulting LLC in Maryland and opened a checking account as its sole signatory.

From February 2021 through February 2022, Marcia Robinson sent invoices from Tailored Railroads to JB Railroad without providing any services or goods. Bledsoe then issued checks totaling $75,956 to Tailored Railroads as part of the bribery arrangement with Dale Robinson.

Though unaware of all details of her husband’s illegal activities with Bledsoe, Marcia knew about the payments intended for influencing contractor selection but did not report it.

In connection with this case, Jessie Bledsoe pled guilty to paying the bribe. His sentencing is scheduled before U.S. District Judge Beth Bloom on October 3, 2025.

The announcement came from U.S. Attorney Hayden P. O’Byrne for the Southern District of Florida along with FBI Special Agent Brett D. Skiles and Inspector General Felix Jimenez from Miami-Dade County Office of Inspector General (MDC-OIG).

Assistant U.S. Attorney Edward N. Stamm prosecuted this case while Assistant U.S. Attorney Marx Calderon handled forfeiture matters.
