Florida’s small business community has expressed support for Governor Ron DeSantis’ proposed budget for the fiscal year 2025-2026. The proposal includes a repeal of the state’s Business Rent Tax, a move welcomed by local entrepreneurs.

The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), an organization representing small businesses in Florida, issued a statement highlighting their approval. Bill Herrle, NFIB Florida Executive Director, commented on the potential impact of the tax elimination: “Florida’s small businesses applaud Governor DeSantis’ proposed budget and its focus on fiscal responsibility. Repealing the state’s Business Rent Tax will provide small businesses with much-appreciated tax relief and allow small employers to further invest in their businesses and employees.”

Herrle emphasized gratitude towards Governor DeSantis for his leadership and commitment to supporting Florida’s small business sector.
