Jesse Roger Armstrong, a 35-year-old resident of Gainesville, Florida, has been indicted on federal charges related to child pornography. The indictment includes one count of distribution and one count of possession of child pornography. The announcement was made by John P. Heekin, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Florida.

Armstrong is set to appear for arraignment before United States Magistrate Judge Midori Lowry at the United States Courthouse in Gainesville on July 29, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. If found guilty, he could face up to 40 years in prison.

The investigation was carried out by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations along with the Gainesville Police Department. Assistant United States Attorney Adam Hapner will prosecute the case.

It is important to note that an indictment is merely an allegation and not proof of guilt. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt during trial.

This case is part of Project Safe Childhood, an initiative started in May 2006 by the Department of Justice to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse. The program aims to locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals exploiting children via the Internet while also identifying and rescuing victims.
