Former South Florida pitcher Jack Nedrow signs with Toronto Blue Jays organization

Former University of South Florida right-handed pitcher Jack Nedrow has signed with the Toronto Blue Jays organization and will join their Single-A affiliate, the Dunedin Blue Jays, according to a May 9 announcement. The Dunedin team is scheduled to play a three-game series against the Tampa Tarpons beginning Tuesday, May 12.

Nedrow pitched for one season with the Bulls, throwing 72 innings and posting a 5-3 record. He made eight starts, recorded 47 strikeouts, had a 3.75 earned run average (ERA), and earned one save. He also contributed in the American Athletic Conference tournament by helping South Florida secure its first win of the event against Wichita State.

After graduating from USF, Nedrow played for both the Chicago Dogs in the American Association and the York Revolution in the Atlantic League. With Chicago, he went 3-4 with a 3.59 ERA and struck out 59 batters over nearly 68 innings pitched. Following three starts with York Revolution, he was offered an opportunity to sign with Toronto’s organization.

The University of South Florida baseball program was founded in 1966 and will enter its sixty-first season as part of the American Conference in 2026. Head coach Mitch Hannahs is set to return for his second year after leading USF to its most wins since 2018 during his debut season. The Bulls have appeared in fourteen NCAA Tournaments and have produced notable alumni such as Shane McClanahan and Orion Kerkering.

University of South Florida Athletics has produced Olympians representing multiple countries and has won numerous conference championships as well as national titles, according to the official website. The athletics district features updated venues for various sports including baseball, softball, soccer, and basketball; it also promotes community involvement while embracing values of inclusion and equity.
