FOIA Request to Lee County Sheriff’s Office regarding the number of job applications and tracking on August 14, 2025.

The Sunshine Sentinel has submitted a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office in Florida. The request seeks records concerning the number of job applications received by the office, categorized by week, month, or year. Additionally, the request asks for information about the department or individual responsible for tracking these application numbers.

The request was made under Article I, section 24 of the Florida Constitution and chapter 119 of the Florida Statutes. The Sunshine Sentinel has requested that this information be provided in an electronic format. As a media organization dedicated to providing comprehensive news coverage on local governmental affairs, access to such public records is deemed essential for fulfilling its role in holding public institutions accountable and ensuring transparency.
