Governor Ron DeSantis announced that Florida’s Toll Relief Program has saved nearly $42 million for over 1.2 million SunPass customers in its first month. The program, initiated in April for the second consecutive year, offers a 50 percent credit to accounts with at least 35 monthly toll transactions. This initiative will continue until March 2025.

In 2023, the program provided $500 million in savings to commuters, averaging approximately $400 per individual. Governor DeSantis stated, “In the first month of the program alone, we saved Florida commuters nearly $42 million. We are on track for another great year of significant relief for Florida commuters.” He emphasized that these savings help families retain more money amid high inflation.

Lieutenant Governor Jeanette Nuñez highlighted the evolution from a SunPass Savings Program to a Toll Relief Program as evidence of Florida’s commitment to providing direct relief. “This support goes a long way for commuters,” she said.

Florida Department of Transportation Secretary Jared W. Perdue praised the program’s impact: “Providing a positive customer experience is an essential part of what we do, and this program has delivered real financial relief to Floridians when they need it most.”

Drivers with a Florida-based transponder are automatically enrolled in the savings plan without needing to apply.
