Florida’s small business community is marking a significant milestone with the signing of HB 7031 into law. This legislation, enacted by Governor DeSantis, eliminates the business rent tax for small businesses in the state.
Bill Herrle, Executive Director of NFIB Florida, expressed his satisfaction with this development. “Today’s signing is a culmination of a 10-year effort from small business owners across the Sunshine State who have worked tirelessly to get the business rent tax completely and permanently eliminated,” he stated. He highlighted the immediate economic relief that will be provided to small businesses renting or leasing properties as a result of this legislative change.
Herrle extended his gratitude to both the Florida Legislature and Governor DeSantis for their role in bringing about this change for the benefit of the small business community.
