Attorney General James Uthmeier of Florida has released an opinion stating that state laws mandating race-based actions are likely unconstitutional under both the Fourteenth Amendment’s Equal Protection Clause and Article I, section 2, of the Florida Constitution.

“State laws requiring race-based state action are presumptively unconstitutional under the Fourteenth Amendment’s Equal Protection Clause and Article I, section 2, of Florida’s Constitution,” Uthmeier said in his official statement.

The Attorney General’s office provides various educational programs aimed at protecting residents from fraud and scams. These include consumer services for complaint submissions, alerts on pricing issues and emerging threats, as well as support for vulnerable groups such as seniors and military veterans. More information about these initiatives can be found on the official website.

The office also works with law enforcement through campaigns like Back the Blue to enhance community safety across Florida. Consumer protection efforts focus on distributing alerts about scams and offering resources to educate Floridians about fraud prevention. These services extend statewide, supporting public service and consumer protection objectives throughout Florida. Details on these activities are available at the Florida State Executive Attorney General’s website.
