Attorney General James Uthmeier’s Office of Statewide Prosecution has filed charges against Zatorya Daniels for organized retail theft. Daniels is accused of committing at least 16 thefts, amounting to over $20,000 in stolen goods from South Florida stores.
“This career criminal committed at least 16 thefts, stealing more than $20,000 worth of items in South Florida,” stated Attorney General James Uthmeier. “Thanks to the diligent efforts of Florida law enforcement, her crime spree is over, and our Statewide Prosecutors will ensure she stays behind bars where she belongs.”
The investigation revealed that Daniels targeted Ulta Beauty and Walgreens stores, taking 276 items valued at $21,066. She has a history of criminal activity with more than 20 prior theft convictions.
Daniels allegedly entered stores with accomplices, placed items into her handbag, and left without paying. The incidents occurred across St. Lucie, Martin, Palm Beach, and Broward counties.
Currently facing two counts of organized retail theft while already in custody for other charges, Daniels could receive up to 30 years in prison if convicted.
The investigation was conducted by the Martin County Sheriff’s Office. Assistant Statewide Prosecutor Chris Olowin will oversee the case proceedings.
