FIU men’s basketball announced on May 9 the signing of Andreas Holst, a 7-foot forward from Copenhagen, Denmark, who transferred from Oklahoma. Holst redshirted last season with the Sooners.

The addition of Holst is significant for FIU as he brings international and collegiate experience to the team. He was rated as a three-star recruit by On3 and Rivals and ranked 131st nationally in the 2025 class. According to On3, he was also listed as the No. 33 power forward in his class.

Holst previously played for Denmark’s Bakken Bears in Basketligean, which is Denmark’s top professional league. During his time there, he made 38 three-pointers for Bakken. He also represented Denmark at the 2023 FIBA U18 European Championship where he averaged 8.9 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks over seven games.

In addition to his international play, Holst averaged 9.3 points and 3.4 rebounds across 23 games with Bears Academy—a Bakken Bears affiliate—and participated in NBA Academy Games held in the United States.

Holst becomes only the second Panther from Denmark after Kasper Christiansen (2017-18) and is FIU’s first seven-footer since Seth Pinkney played during the 2023-24 season.

Looking ahead, fans can find more information about tickets by calling FIU Athletics or visiting their online ticket office.
